I Can Live Up To Dr. Mengele’s Standards.

February 28, 2009

So much time as passed. Since the last time I’ve eaten microwave popcorn. I went downstairs a minute it ago, and there it was shiny plastic package sitting on top the instant pudding. And now it’s in the microwave. 1:25 to go. :)

Hey…so how are you guys? What’s up? Talk to me about your day. My day sucked but that’s okay. I’m on facebook and it’s weird because hardly any one’s online…because so many people gave facebook up for lent. It’s really amazing how addicting facebook is to some…enough to give it up for lent. I mean I log on like every 3 days to check messages, but some people never leave.

I finally finished The Catcher in the Rye. The book report was due like 3 weeks ago (I used sparknotes to get it done it time) But last night I finished. It was good. I can’t think of anything else to describe it….

Um what else… 3 different concerts coming up. Something to look forward to. Spring break too.

I’m sorry I can’t think of anything good to talk about in this post. I feel like a failure :(

But I have music if anyone’s willing to listen! I was gonna post some of The Police, but I found this instead:

I’m not sure if you guys would like it, but I thought it was kinda cool. I put it on my ipod when I’m walking to school.

Socks Clinton Dies At Age 18

February 21, 2009

Post from yahoo

——————————

BALTIMORE – Socks, the White House cat during the Clinton administration who waged war on Buddy the pup, has died. He was around 18.

Socks had lived with Bill Clinton’s secretary, Betty Currie, in Hollywood, Md., since the Clintons left the White House in early 2001.

Currie confirmed Socks’ death Friday evening and said she was “heartbroken.” She did not give details, referring calls to the Clinton Foundation office.

The foundation released a statement from the Clintons:

“Socks brought much happiness to Chelsea and us over the years, and enjoyment to kids and cat lovers everywhere. We’re grateful for those memories, and we especially want to thank our good friend, Betty Currie, for taking such loving care of Socks for so many years.”

Socks had reached his late teens — an advanced age for a cat — when reports surfaced in late 2008 that he had cancer and Currie had ruled out invasive efforts to prolong his life.

“It’s not a happy prognosis,” presidential historian Barry Landau, a friend of Currie’s, said at the time.

Socks was what feline-lovers call a tuxedo cat — mostly black with white down the front and belly and on his feet, suggesting a fashionable dandy in a black satin evening jacket with a snowy shirt peeping out. He had markings that looked a bit like a mustache and goatee.

Chelsea Clinton’s pet first appeared in the news in November 1992 after then-Gov. Bill Clinton won the presidency and the family was the still in the governor’s mansion in Little Rock, Ark. Socks became an early symbol of privacy-vs.-media in the Clinton era when photographers got a little aggressive as he took a stroll outside.

Life changed for Socks in the White House, when his easy access to the out-of-doors was necessarily curtailed. One official conceded that, yes, Socks was on a leash while outside.

Things took a turn for the worse in late 1997, when then-puppy Buddy, a chocolate retriever, arrived. Relations between Socks and Buddy were cool from the beginning.

“I’m trying to work that out,” Clinton joked at the time. “It’s going to take a while. It’s kind of like peace in Ireland or the Middle East.”

A few weeks later, in early 1998, the two pets had an encounter on the South Lawn. “A very agitated Buddy approached the cat and began barking as the president restrained him with a green leash,” The Associated Press reported. “Socks, hair raised high, stood his ground until Clinton and Buddy made their exit to the Oval Office.”

But their pairing enchanted pet lovers, especially children. In 1998, then-first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton put out a book of children’s letters to the two pets in “Dear Socks, Dear Buddy.”

“Can you please send me a picture and a paw print,” one youngster wrote Socks. “Do you have fleas? I think my cat has fleas.”

In the book, the first lady wrote she had been taking daughter Chelsea to a piano lesson in spring 1991 when they spotted two kittens in the music teacher’s front yard. “The black one with white paws — Socks — jumped right into (Chelsea’s) arms,” she wrote.

After the Clintons left in early 2001, Socks moved in with Currie. Buddy, meanwhile, made the move with the Clintons to Chappaqua, N.Y., but he was struck and killed by a car the following year.

Socks continued to live quietly with Currie, sometimes making appearances at programs held by pet welfare groups. Landau said Socks enjoyed sitting in the sun and that Currie doted on him, cooking him special chicken dinners.

Coincidentally, the White House cat in the Bush era, India, died Jan. 4 at 18, just weeks before Bush left office. Bush daughter Barbara, then 9, named the shorthaired black cat after former Texas Rangers player Ruben Sierra, nicknamed El Indio.

Like Socks, India had to share the White House with the canine side: the Bushes’ Scottish terriers, Barney and Miss Beazley, who were immortalized in Internet videos.

Music For Life

January 29, 2009

Music. It guides us. Inspires us. And keeps our spirits up. Recently i have been reminded of what i first remember as ”music” what was the first music i heard. I remember my first experiance with music was NPR’s classical music. And my first non classical experiance with music was either The Traveling Wilburys or Paul Simon’s Graceland. Both i still love and listen to. The Traveling Wilburys caused my love of a large region of music and their messages still guide me through life. Graceland got me started with my vivid imagination and voice. Everytime i heard the African chorus i thought Jungles and old times of tribes and animals. Gracelands message also caused my voice against racial hatred. And my voice for the enviroment. My first experiance with comedy was Monty Python. But thats another story :D .  What was your first experiance with music? Did it affect your life? And do you still listen to it?

I would like to thank Brian for adding me to his blog! Unlike other blogs of no mention that don’t appreciate my posts(or just plain ignore them *cough*).  I know i will enjoy working here!

They got married in a hot air balloon

January 21, 2009

and suffocated in space.

***********************************************************************************

Ah man today was pretty horrible.  I shouldn’t really be complaining, so I’m not.

Just Kidding I am.

Inauguration Day, today, hooray. The Dean made the teachers drop their lesson plans so we could watch it in like 3 different periods, because he thinks we’re all stupid and could possibly learn something from it.  And hear me out, now…I was interested in it for the first 20 minutes of his speech. But then our brain dead latin teacher had the brilliant idea of letting us “debate” on it.  And all my brilliant classmates could come up with was….”DUDE, Obama is freaking RETARDED! He’s gonna doom the world and send us to hell!” and “WTF you RACIST! Obama is BLACK! he’s the best thing that’s happened to us!”
After that I plugged my ipod in and fell asleep.  Stupid kids. :)

And really the day just got worse. I’m ready to drop and sleep for a few months.

But the formal’s on Saturday. Which is something to look forward to, I suppose.  And drumline is up and running and I can’t wait for our first competition. I play3rd base…hoping for snare next year. Band is suffering from California budget crisis, which is simply freakishly irritating. Um our English class is working on Romeo and Juliet. And poetry…which I have absolutely not talent in. That’s really about it with me. Can’t wait for summer. :?

I haven’t posted a video in awhile because youtube has been weird. But I’ll try this:

Hysteria – Muse. Feel free to look up the video on myspace. it’s disturbing.

Whatever Floats Your Boat

January 9, 2009

Hi. I went home sick today with the stomach flu (bleh) but feel a lot better now :)

We had winter chair auditions in band yesterday. I scored second chair and I’m the only freshmen in the top 5. I’m really ecstatic… not trying to sound all narcistic or anything…I’m just glad. Never done so well in auditions.

ANYWAYS…this post is supposed to be one of those “what i think of you” posts. Praise and whatnot.

So…I’ll start from the beginning. (I doubt even half of these people will comment but I still should include them)

Koko/Cran: Their blog was the first I ever commented on. I was one heck of a stupid kid. But I don’t really have a problem with these guys. They were just…i dunno…there. :)

Cicimay: EARTH TO CICI! WHERE ARE YOU? Yeah she left awhile ago. But I still miss her. She’s cool. Like two years ago we had these insane forest fires in California and she lived by them or something. That’s really all we had in common :? She had this awesome blog that Zipo and I used to gossip on too.

Zipo7: Yup Yup. Everybody knows this guy (girl?). Although he can annoy the hell out of anyone, he’s still pretty rad. He’s loyal to blogs too if he doesn’t hate your guts. Ummm what else. He likes to talk….he’ll chat up a storm, which is awesome. I think we’ve even had a convorsation about belly button lint.  And he reminds me of Stewie in Family Guy. Evil genius… (just kidding)

Zoozoodeem: She likes cats and cars. Fergie and fashion. Headstrong and stubborn and quite funny too. But I think she quit her blog. Which is sad :(

Wariolink: He’s not the sharpest crayon in the box and he kinda gets on my nerves. But I still have to include him.

Dupenguinguy: I swear I spelled his name wrong. He’s alright. He won’t take me off his hall of shame though.

KyleMagee: He had this crush on Zoozoodeem that I thought was funny. Um I haven’t seen him in awhile though.

Narniapenguin: Yay it’s npengi! Could she be anymore brilliant? I think not! She’s obsessed with narnia the way I’m obsessed with red kool-aid. Which is great. She’s considerate and calm, and very friendly…. She’ll be successful and happy in life, I predict. Narnia, thank you for being my friend…. I would include your sister but I like you more.

Opus/Josh:I could never really tell if he liked me or not. But he’s a good guy who understands to the pain and agony of school and social classes. :) He likes history and is obsessed with legos the way I’m obsessed with waffles. And he likes his politics. He’s pretty funny overall and I bet he’s thrilled that this is like the 4th post he’s been mentioned in. I mean look how freaking popular he is! No wonder!

Josh the Raining Water dude: I remember this humungo fight I participated in…involving him and some other kid. But I can’t really remember ever disliking him….so he’s cool :) His avatars make me laugh.  And his blog is mucho grande! I’m so jealous of that.

Crystal: She has a piczo. Someone remind me to comment on that. I don’t really know much about her…. but she’s nice :)

Logan: Haha he reminds me of my little brother in so many ways. He’s funny and random and have just these good qualities of a happy kid. I liked talking on his chatbox although the music made me crazy. He’s very careful not to annoy or get on the bad side of anyone too. Which is good….no enemies. :)

Olly: Olly Olly Oxen Free! Sorry…just had to say that.  He’s cool. He has a life so he dosen’t get into blogging so much but everbody enjoys his presence :) And he has good taste in music. Which is important.

I think that’s everyone. I hope you’re all happy with what I had to say…um have a good week!

P.S My birtherday’s coming up!

No Title. Except for this one.

December 15, 2008

Odd things that scare me:

  • Toothpicks  (that guy got KILLED with one in Atlantis! Yeah, it’s a cartoon, but DAMN)
  • Strobe lights
  • Unmarked bottles under the kitchen sink (Raspberry Fanta or Windex? Your call.)
  • Broken bottles
  • Dying from graphite poisoning (or, in TJ’s terms, ’stabbed to death with a pencil’)
  • The idea that perhaps everyone else on the bus can hear what I’m thinking
  • Reflective street/highway signs

I’ll perhaps add more to that later.

Ever have two songs stuck in your head at the same time? And they just kind of sync over top of each other? Well, right now I’m going with FOUR

Shake it (Metro Station) Womanizer (Britney Spears) Message In A Bottle (The Police) and Highway To Hell (AC/DC)

And speaking of AC/DC, my super cool XM radio got combined with this other company called Sirius and i found the coolest stations. Ohmygod they have a whole station playing only AC/DC. They also had a Zeppelin one too.

Yep. So it’s Christmas time. and all the other holidays that also take place around this time.

Last year my old man “fell off the roof” putting up christmas lights  (strobe lights i must add)  Seriously, all he was doing was hammering a nail into the alcove of one of the first floor windows which was like two feet off the ground. Well apparently he slipped off a “patch of wet concrete” and landed in my mother’s flowerbed. He’s scarred to life now and he’s making ME attach all the annoying colorful strobe lights to the roof. He wants me to do it tomorrow after school, and i tried telling him that it JUST RAINED and the roof is going to be slippery as hell, but noooo he told me to wear a freakin helmet.

So if i slip off the roof FOR REAL and crack my skull open, you guys can have this super cool blog to call your own.

P.S I’m adding “heights” to my odd fear list.

P.S.S Nothing beats christmas music by WHAM. Haha. well other than the Manheim Steamroller, but i doubt you guys have ever heard of them.
