Wordpress recognizes a hit on a page as a visitor. Like if I go in and out of several pages...the counter will recognize that as a separate visitor. So like last night, we were going back and forth on different pages...( I went in of out of several) the counter jacked up a vistor for each page. So lots of times it gives you a false impression of more ppl on the site. Also, I have learned over the years...hahaha..old now ya know, that if you see a name that you have not seen before, you can also find out who it is. Here again, it maybe someone you know, but is trying to hide. Some ppl do it on their own sites to make it appear as if they have more vistors commenting.
