Breakfast With My Shadow
April 19, 2009So spring break was pretty nifty. I saw everything in Washington D.C that I wanted to see, so I guess it was satisfying. My mama + my little brother were killing me with the whole tourist thing - taking pictures of EVERYTHING, asking EVERYBODY directions, insisting on taking the trolley EVERYWHERE….but I can’t complain because I have no money to fund the expenses for that trip and being a tourist is the whole point of vacations. But yeah. I hope you all (or just Zipo if it’s just Zipo reading this) had a good break.
Jeez my esophagus is hurting like heck. My capillaries are screaming. I feel like I’ve just ran a mile. I hate being sick.
Umm. Well prom is next week. That will be cool.
I feel really submissive…but it’s hard for me to explain because it’s just too vague of a topic. Dude. Luke chapter 15 is killing me, I think. Also, I got laid into at jazz band practace yeterday, because I haven’t been practicing like I should. My solo sounded like crap. I’m humiliated.
We’re reading Romeo and Juliet in English. I’m Benvolio. I hate the whole story. Stupid kids. But I like Benvolio y Mercutio okay.
So this girl I know was talking about stereotypes and hypocrisy. It was a pretty heated discussion actually. She goes on about how people catagorize goths and wannabe-athletes and smart asses and druggies and how wrong it is. Then she gets on the topic of “preps” and I didn’t even know what a prep was. So I asked her and she said that they were people that wore a lot of expensive clothing and talked a lot about shallow things. And she said that she personally didn’t like “those kind of people, because they are ignorant and hypocritical” But then I got even more confused because two minutes before she was telling me she thought stereotyping was stupid. So I tell her this. And she got pissed. And won’t talk to me.
This is my girlfriend that’s pissed too. It’s so tiring.
Also. I don’t like people who talk to me about all of things that they have exposed me to. Music. Movies. Ect. They automatically expect credit for things that I love just because they happened to influence me to love those things in the first place. Like if someone sees their favorite band on my iPod that they had previously recommended, they get all excited and their egos rise to insanity. Or if they tell me they love this movie and I go out and rent it, they don’t ask me if I liked it, they talk about how much they liked it. I mean….I do appreciate it, if someone suggests I watch or read or listen to something, and I end up enjoying whatever I watch or read or listen to. But sharing something isn’t supposed to boost your self esteem. It’s about how much a person loves something you share. Does this make any sense? I know I’m ranting…it’s just something that irritates me.
“I would give someone a record so they could love the record, not so they always know that I gave it to them”
-the perks of being a wallflower.
Gosh, I’m sorry about the ramblings. I have nowhere else to write these things down. Hey as soon as I practice a little bit, I’ll come back and update the Entertainment page. I promise.
Here listen: it’s music! Time To Pretend – MGMT. It’s kinda techno. Kinda. Listen to it!

I’m sorry if this isn’t a good post and i sound like a dramatic emotion loser. but it’s just how I feel right now.
and the video’s not working. so look it up on youtube if you can.
This was a great post! Well all except being sick part. You are just like everyone, but somehow we feel like we are the only ones who feel a certain way. Half the time we are conditioned to feel perky and say and do all the right things. Well it don’t work that way. I am going to digest this some more and come back later tonight when there is less white noise around here.
And I always wonder if that is a good or bad thing for ya…if I am the only one reading. I am sure I am not, but somehow it makes feel “less important” for reading in when you phrase it that way. I will cope!
Back later!!!
nah i don’t mean it in a bad way. i don’t mind going back to cicimay days, either. but if i’m talking to only you, i would prefer addressing to only you.
but no, it’s not a bad thing at all.
Well understandably it would make a big difference in the amount of commitment made to your time and blog. I personally feel the “cicimay days” were a great moment in time. But I don’t think we could repeat that. It was the exception to the rule. I guess you just have to make the judgment call.
So, onward and upward! More later…
I want to take a look at the music vids before I continue to leave my pearls of wisdom. XD
Glad you were a happy tourist. I know what you mean on being the total tourist. Sometimes it is better to go it alone. That is why I got a hand held GPS for Christmas. I always make it a point to explore the unknown …the uncharted. Actually, I always make a b-line to any Hard Rock Cafe.
Prom Night…. always an open ended gig. Hope you are feeling better by then. Why is it that when we have something to look forward to, something always seems to hang in the balance? Like life isn’t hard enough to deal with. Must be a test of some kind. Like being vulnerable and not submissive. Possibly the two are the same in some respects.
Relationships are hard. End of story. You just have to figure out if it all worth it. And regard to the rest of your conversation, maybe over thinking comes into play. Possibly ppl aren’t taking credit for something that you like that they have exposed you to, but are feeling good that something they like, you like as well. They feel you are someone who has a better knowledge and appreciation for music, and they are trying to identify with you. But then I don’t know. Maybe they are just jerks. “Maybe you could tell people about Punk Rocky and walking home from school and things like that. Maybe these are your glory days, and your not even realizing it because they don’t involve a ball.” ☺
Life is like jazz, the frets are closer together up the neck! So practice! But don’t fret over the small stuff!!!!

Breakfast with my shadow… like waking up in my legos room. Ya gooda love that!

Now you hit on a song I really like! If this isn’t a throw back to the 60’s I don’t know what is. Only it is so nostalgic it speaks to me! Or any generation! Love it!!! I have to have some more of that. I will be looking to buy. ☺ Thanks Brian
You’ve read the book too? Girlfriend told me to read it before she was my girlfriend. So I read it. It’s nothing like I’ve ever read before. I like the things the kid says.
Watch this video:
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
The vid was like watching a cross between Boy George and Marlyn Manson. HaHa… It was a great tune.
Have you got your Prophalactic antibiotics yet for the swine pendemic? Your state is high on the list for outbreak. STAY IN THE HOUSE!
It’s so stupid. Nothing will happen if….nevamind.
Did you know that goldfish have a memory span of 12 seconds?
If….. is a very big word!!! Nevamind. XD
DAMN one second longer than mine! I was going for a record. Fish is good for the memory. I will eat more of it and beat the little bastard at his game. XD!!!!
I didn’t want to say anything bad on a blog. So I left it hanging.
Haha. Last semester I had to write an essay on Animal Farm for finals, and I couldn’t remember how to spell “maybe” and I spent like half an hour spelling it and respelling it, because I couldn’t figure out another word to replace it. It was so retarded.
Bad about the flu? Bad about pigs? (I can say a few bad things about some pigs! ROFL) Or bad in general? It is your blog. But never leave anything hanging. OMG… never do that. That would be politically incorrect!! XD!!!!
Yes, sometimes that extra effort is a pain in the butt. But, sometimes it pays off in the end. Good golly…. I am on a roll.
If Opus comes around, I thought I might mention wonder boy Brett quit his blog….again. Too bad this always seems to happen. Almost everyone in that group is at a stand still. That is the life of a blogger!
Swine flu fears led authorities to close a Northern California high school ….. uh 0o! Got that off the AP on the internet.
So you guys think all this Swine Flue stuff is no big deal, or are you slightly worried?
My opinion is that even if we all do get it, it’s not a big deal. We get it, and then it passes. I mean, the majority of people who have died from it are in Mexico, and I think that was because they didn’t know how to treat it in a good timeframe.
So, what are your thoughts on Luke 15? The good shepherd and all that.
Oooh, boy. Don’t get me started on people who talk about hipocrisy…
I think the Swine Flu will become the equivalent of I Am Legend.
Not really, but you never know.
In southern California there were like 3 deaths but those cases involved infants and old people.
I’m sorry Narnia but I can’t really discuss my thoughts on Luke right now. I suck at being religious + it’s raining and I’m getting sleepy.
I h
Damn it… excuse the last entry…. I hit the send
Any way… keep the good job on your site.
Well hello, Zipo haha.
Hello… do we need to be reintroduced?
FTW lol
No biggie, Peace.
Hehe. So we’re all going to become like sick mutants then, huh, Peace?
Neat concept, I’ll admit. But kind of far out.
I so thought you meant literally.
~No worries, just a stupid move right?
Peace?…. that is just a violation.
It doesn’t matter to me, really.
my name is so outdated. Everybody spells it Bryan now. With a Y. I hate that.
Very upwardly mobile.
Oh, I’m sorry! I never got into calling you Brian. If you don’t want me to, I can quit.
