Princess Buttercup is a Stupid Name.

March 20, 2009

3OH!3 is playing in our city in two weeks. It’s an AP tour…lots of mainstream radio crap, but I like this band. I’m stoked. I’m writing this long list of concerts I’ve seen and that I need to see, but you guys probably don’t care about reading it so I’ll keep it on my bedroom wall.

Is anybody going to see any concerts playing in their area any time soon? If so tell me about it. :)

Yeeahhh so it’s almost April. The school year is nearly over. This year has been weird.

You know how in tv shows whenever someone is having a bad day it rains? And their walking home alone in the dark and a car next to you drives through a puddle creating a splash of muddy water that completly drowns you immdediatly making you feel ten times worse? Haha yeah, that just happened to me. Tide2Go sticks are my heros. :)

So where is everyone? I’ve been talking to Zipo…we’re beginning to wonder if this is the end. Depressing is it not? That’s why you should take 3 seconds to comment this post, so it doesn’t get lonely all the time. Ya dig?

Here: Thought you might like this. It’s a poster on how music effects (affects?) your SAT score.

I just re-read this post and it’s RIDDLED with gramatical errors. My sincerest apologies. I’ll fix it in the morning.

  1. First, congrats on 6,000 hit!

    Great looking post as usual!

I will come back to this tomorrow. Late hour and brain dead at the moment. :)

  2. So sorry I haven’t been around lately, I really have no excuse. I haven’t been that busy..I guess wordpress is just kind of…boring. DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUN. No, those are not my last words. ;-) I will still be around every now and then, but just not as much. I won’t leave you guys. Yeah, Princess Buttercup is a pretty silly name, but hey, the whole movie is silly.

  3. I remember watching the movie with my mom in 3rd grade and telling her that I wanted to be just like Westley when I grew up. I liked the way he talked.

“So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, “Dear God! What is that thing,” will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.”

I would walk around school telling people that line, because I loved it so much.

Aw. That sounds so gay now that I think about it.

Anyways. It is a silly movie.

  4. I loved that movie. I found it so funny and captivating. But here again, I love being read to. I think I said that on another post here. It was like a bedtime story and the backdrop of England and Ireland made it somehow feel like, oh I don’t know, Peter Pan or Robyn Hood. How in the heck could you ever remember those lines? Amazing. But the title has always reminded me of a commercial for butter. You have seen those commercials with the talking cows going to Calif. A cow called Princess Buttercup, yes it just fits.

I am only slightly familiar with 3OH!3 (3 0 3). Only because I see promos for it on the concert ads. Electronic music is ok, but I know you really like your alternative music. Wow, I listened to some of their tracts. X-rated. LOL So what are some of the concert you have seen or are going to see other than this one? I am going to see Jeff Beck in April. Gotta see one of the greats before he dies! He doesn’t come out of Europe to often. Yes this year has flown by. I know what you mean!! Geez, it seems some parts are only a blur of a memory now.

I don’t think this is the end, not so much gloom and doom. It is just a fork in the road. We have supported a blog site on our own before…we didn’t suffer for it. LOL But, when something isn’t fun and becomes a drag or worse WORK, lol, one should call it a day. You have done a great job! You and your Tide2go sticks. =)XD

  5. that name reminds me of a song, not a well known one. But it is as strange as the title..for the benefit of Mr.Kite..

The end of the internet blog is upon us, But it isnt the end of the world. Theres always plan B, Real life.
I have been at the Italy-Like California Countryside visiting my Great Aunt. Also went to Yosemite. And found how terribly dreadful Arizona is(as well as those other long boring states i went through). 18 hours, in a car, through desert and steppe. I Am Tired..
    ALBATROSS!

  6. Ah, gloom and doom. I think everyone is over thinking this. Maybe those with a sixth sense and lack of determination see the end. Negativity breeds negativity. The Blog lives! It just needs a shot in the arm. =)

    No albatross or a monkey!

I will “Build you up Buttercup”!!!

  7. Yosemite is awesome. Arizona is too.

    Artists I’ve Seen In Concert:

    Plain White Ts
    Boys Like Girls (free ticket)
    The Used
    Something Corporate
    Paul McCartney
    Elton John
    Paramore
    Jimmy Eat World
    Blink 182 (little kid)
    Jonas Brothers (free ticket)
    The Offspring
    Oasis
    AFI
    Papa Roach
    Modest Mouse
Radiohead (best concert I’ve been to yet)
    Coldplay (one of the worst)
    Vampire Weekend
    Korn

Those are the ones I remember the most. There were maybe 5 or 6 that were like radio lounges or bookstore acoustic showings/local bands.

  8. I knew they were not going to be the norm for me. I love your style. I have to go eat supper. But I will post my concert history after I chow down!

Yes I love the southwest!! I have relatives in Texas. HOT!

  9. Your grama made some errors and you corrected them? Is that what you are saying? What a nice boy you are. LMAO NEVER EVEN NOTICED! However, I could not get that poster to pull up. Probably “my-error” more than likely.

It was somewhat of a depressing day. Lost another blogger friend to downsizing.

Ok, so today we had JOB FAIR! This was the exciting part of the day! I signed up for PAYING JOBS! I took out many applications. I signed up for but not limited to: Parks and Recreation. Hospital. Retail stores. Public Library Food services. I’m going for the cash. ROFL I am a licensed driver. I need gas money!!!

I got the speech we all do at this time in our lives. If you don’t know it, it goes like this…. “If you’re going to be a responsible person(then you get the age plugged in), you need to play the part.”
    OK…turn me loose. LMaO

  10. Ok… a short list of the “greats” I have seen in concert.

Metallica…(God Smack opened and they were awesome)
    ACDC
    Aerosmith
    Van Morrison
ZZ Top….best ever for fun show!
    Eric Clapton
    Fleetwood Mac
    Joe Cocker
    Aretha Franklin
    KD Lang

    My parents….LOL

    Let me think…. after pizza.

  11. ive only seen comedians and folk singers you wouldnt know (one you might..)

  12. Who is “you”? How would you know? Post them. Let’s see.

  13. Ok, anyway, my comment about jobs, is anyone else going to seek out a means of employment this summer? Paid or otherwise? Just projecting a thought. I am getting psyched for this big change from school to summer!

  14. i meant you as an everyone whould ever visist this page..
no summa jobs fer me. Not old ‘nuth yet :p
Let see uhh Tom Chapin,Bruce Springsteen…can’t remember the rest i was quite young.

  15. Yes, I’ve been thinking about Barnes and Noble. I just got a car today (finally!) so that is a step towards getting a job, now.
I still love Princess Bride; I just recently read the original book, and it was actually very memorable, and funny. Great piece of literature. Not many people know this, but there is a sequal to the book called “Buttercup’s Baby.” It has a horrible ending though, and I really detested it.

  16. The baby dies doesn’t it?

aHhHhH zipo I’m jealous of your concert history. Nobody good ever comes to my city. :(

    Opus folk music = cool.

  17. Watch Out: April Fools Worm/Virus expected to strike tomorrow – there’s a new Windows computer virus called Conficker-C that’s set to strike on Wednesday. It’s reportedly sitting dormant on millions of Windows PC’s right now ….

    and that ain’t no joke!!!

The saying goes there is no fool like an old fool. Hmmm, I wonder how old is old?

Anyone want to share any April Fool jokes they may have played on someone? For the life of me, I can’t think of any off hand.

  18. I’ve replaced all the cookies in the cookie jar with fruit.

I’ve covered all of the toilet seats with ceran wrap

    Prank calls are my forte.

    I love April Fools Day.

This old guy that used to live near my school told me this story or something about a guy asking another why different religions have their own special holidays (Christmas, Hanukkah, ect.) and why Atheism didn’t. The other guy replied “April Fools Day”

    Have I told this before?

“Do you have short term memory loss”
    “I can’t remember”
    haha.

I have new bands to add to my concert list. I’ve been on a roll these past two weeks.

Does your head hurt? My head hurts.

We have to do this masquerade party thing for english tomorrow. I have to make a stupid mask. I’m just gonna cut holes outta a paper bag I think. Screw feathers and glitter…

    Goodnight.

  19. Those are good ones! Ah, prank calls use to scare me. A bunch of us would get together and make those calls. I swear, I was terrified that someone would figure it out and know come get us. Esp. with caller ID now. I did forget that some of us took the salt and pepper shakers tops off and just let them sit on top of the shakers in the cafeteria. We thought that was pretty darn funny. Then. LOL

No, my head doesn’t hurt. Hope yours doesn’t either. Maybe you were thinking to hard. XD

OH! What new bands are adding. I need a culture shock.

A masguerade party, cool!!!! I think they are scary to the point of being exciting. I like the bag mask. It reminds me of the Unknown Comic. Yah, less is more. You got good taste too. =)

It is a good day in the hood!!!! Woot!

  20. I just thought of something. I use to make masks out of paper plates. They make you look like Michael Myers from the movie Halloween. HAHAHA Mask making is an art form. =)

  21. Take a look at Youtube. It is upside down today.

  22. Last night I saw the AP tour with a few people and got smashed to pieces in the crowds. Included really bad bubblegum alternative stuff like Family Force Five, The Maine, and 3oh!3 But i enjoyed it kinda.

Friday saw Taking Back Sunday. Paramore opened for them. Second time seeing them too.

    Next Saturday I’m seeing Beck.

And I’m getting sick again…It’s gotta be the stress. Allergies were horrible today. Parents are mad at me.

That’s enough about me. Howz april fools day for everyone?

  23. Bubble gum….crap. LOL But you were part of the party. It beats watching a rerun of Gilligans Island. =) The concert line-up is a great lead into summer. Not to sure about Taking Back Sunday, but Pamore is good and Beck is some throw back to pop culture or what? Good for you!

April Fool’s was pretty much another day. Had some jokers doing some little stuff at school. Can’t do too much. Cameras will keep you honest. Big Brother is taking all the fun out of life. XD

Wear your paper bag mask during allergy season as a filter. It is also a way to GO GREEN. (Recycling ya know.) :P

Lighten up on the stressors. You have concerts to look forward to! ^-^

  24. So how was your day? Mine was 50/50. Some good some bad.

I think you and I might be the last two standing here. It is appropriate. We started together… we end the same. =)

  25. They still play Gilligans Island? Yesterday I was so bored I started watching M.A.S.H which is the funniest crap I’ve ever seen…

Yeah April fools kinda sucked this year.

I totally should wear a paper bag all day.

My day was…melancholy. I don’t know really. It was just one of those days I guess.

I want to move somewhere else. California kinda sucks right now.

  26. M.A.S.H.=Hot lips! LOL Yah, good stuff.

I am onboard with something is just “not right”. Possibly the change in season, or just not all one could hope for. Do you get what I mean? Yah, melancholy is a good word. Vacation is what the Dr. prescribed. I will take Calif. :)

Did I ever tell you Crysatal quit and deleted her blog. She was a good egg! Her real name was Deanne. Her sister’s name was Samantha. She accidently signed out with her real name. I caught on it as well as mentioning her sister’s real name. She denied it until the end. When she finally quit she announced I was right. Another friend lost. I am beginning to think blogging takes a toll on your emotional psychi. I mean, you don’t even know these ppl and you feel some kind of attachment. I think I will read up on that. =)

Wear the bag! Filter out all the bad stuff! :P

  27. Oh Dear, Zipo! I have done the very same thing, and felt the same when I did it. Prank calls can give you ulcers, I’m sure of it!
I haven’t done many, but here are a few:

Pouring water on my sister’s mattress. (Not a good idea.)

Stealing all the toilet paper at our house and hiding it. (I got in huge trouble with my dad, who had just sat down to use the toilet.)

    Ringing doorbells, and running away.

Let me add that I did these when I was a child….

  28. Yes, Crys was definetly a good one, wasn’t she. She was very funny.

  29. I have no clue why you Narnia and that other person would continue to address me. Does this ring a bell?

I think I met you when I found your first CP site. Wow, that seems forever ago. Thanks for mentioning me, I know our friendship was a little rocky for a bit there, but then smoothed out again. I have Zipo to thank for that rockyness, lol. High five for keeping a friendship even though Zipo tried to ruin it!!

The bell never stops ringing on this end. But, I don’t plan on answering it.

  30. Brian, we need a new post here, when you get time, and feel better. :P

  31. I think I may have been too blunt, but I am very frustrated. So, I got it off my chest.
