Hey Valentine.
February 4, 2009Brian is back. Opus stole the show with his bad ass music post.
Valentine’s Day. Yippee. I’m exhausted. How are you guys?
Uh let’s see. Well I have some new stuff coming soon. A new page about review for music, books, and movies. Sound cool? I’ll have a lot of fun doing it. I’ll talk more about it later. I updated some pages. New survey. And I’ll continue later, because I have to read half of The Catcher in the Rye tonight. Wish me luck.
Ohkay. Valentine’s Day. Fill this out:
Love
Chocolate
Cupid
St. Valentine
Valentines
My First decorated valentine box.
Love songs

First Love – Art Class 7th grade. Slight infatuation with my seat partner.
Chocolate – Hershey Symphony Bars.
Cupid – Is a @$*# ^%#%$%@%@
St. Valentine – I know nothing about him.
Valetines – Were cute when you could get away with giving girls transformer and batman cards.
First Decorated Valentine Box – Kindergarten. Candy.
That was a good day.
Love Songs – Konstantine – Something Corporate.
O this is going to be great fun!! I will comment way more later!
But, are you kidding me … The Catcher in the Rye? You can not digest half of that in one night unless you take some kind of a pill enhancement. LOL
Oo put on you biggest thinking cap … and read I guess.
well i was stupid enough to procrastinate and not actually open it until 2 before the report was due. but i can always use sparknotes.com.
Well you are going to have dance fast… cuz that is major info to document! You will indeed need backup.
Love:Comes in many forms and degrees. Love for family, fellow human beings, pets, music, literature, life. First love: summer of 7th grade. Nothing more than a summer crush.
Chocolate: Truffles~savoir faire
Cupid; Pink half naked little winged creature who shoots ppl with arrows to make the fall in love. Seems there must be some potion on the arrowhead.
St. Valentine Historically there were 5 or even 7 saint Valentines. The origin traces to the Roman Lupercalia, a feast dedicated to the god Pan. Then there was the account of the Valentinus, a priest of Rome. He wrote a dying message to his love and signed it “From you Valentine”. He was executed on Feb. 14 in the year AD. 270. Then of course the church has a story as well. They had to get rid of the pagan stories so they turned them into Christian stories. They substituted a maryred saint for a pagan. Hence they gave St. Valentine! Then history moved on and everyone started drawing pictures and writing poems and sending them on that day along with some “love” tokens. LOL. To make a long story short St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers.
Valentines: Charles Duc d’ Orleans is usually credited with the being the first creator of the written valentine. He was in jail in France and sent his wife rhyming love notes. I personally made some of my valentines for my favorite people. Others got store bought. I always put a stick of gum on them. I see now those little boxes we use to buy have candy attached right to them. Lazy! LOL
My First decorated valentine box. Kindergarden. Aluminum foil, red plastic wrap, those little heart candies that have sayings on them and a few characters cut out of bigger valentines. I think I used a whole clue stick on it!!
Love songs: Unchained Melody is a classic.
That comic strip is awesome!
hmm Valentines Day.
I iz sorry i have not posted yet but i is busy and really was waiting for a post from you! I will post later.
Opus are you in a identity crisis? Are you strange or not? ROFL

Meow, and the strange part i dunno. I’ll ask someone
Love: Only for my family. I’ve had a few crushes growing up, but it was never anthing like real love.
Chocolate: I love Dove milk chocolate!
Cupid: Um, rather a silly myth to be sure…
St. Valentine: I don’t know much about the guy except something about a god and dying…
Valentines: A boy gave me a tweetie valentine when I was 10 in church. That’s the only one I’ve ever recieved.
My First decorated valentine box: I have to admit I’ve never had one before. Maybe I’ll buy myself one.
Love songs: Don’t have any favorites.
WHOOPS! My dear sister forgot to log out, I see this is Narnia. LOL
There, I’m back! You don’t know how many times that has happened…
Yeah. Well feel free to take the new survey.
Brian… how goes the book?
it’s going. i have no motivation right now. i’m going back to sleep.
i have a book to read for Reading that i ABSOLUTLEYHATE and its due…this week. I am about to enter the middle of the book :O
It seems a good read is not on the table right now!
nope. my reading teacher is the following:
1. A racist(she really is!)
2.She has no good taste in books
3.She has no sense of humor.(stupid old lady)
So yea her books are never a good read
Oo that is too bad. That makes the task more like work than a good read.
Ok. so to take a break from the Catcher book, i started reading that black rabbit book i mentioned two posts ago, that i got for my birthday.
and it’s good. i like it. i would even recommend it. recommend it.
oh speaking of, i’m still working on that review page, in case any of you actually noticed it’s absence. i’m oh so lazy.
I am very much interested in that Black Rabbit book. Tell all about it.
You are not lazy at all! You are busy and life happens while you are living it!
i’ll do a review once i’m finished. it’s horrible, i know, but it’s more interesting than the catcher in the rye.
Well I am very interested in knowing what it is about. ☺
happy v-day! lol.
Did anyone watch the grammies? What did you think. Overall, it was one of the most boring, but at the same time, at least it was music. ☺
The Beatle Fighters—Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl; Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Katy Perry were among my favorites that I can remember right now. Radiohead and the USC Marching Band was super great! I thought the audio on this show stunk big time. It was like it wasn’t on half the time.
AH… forgot Coldplay,Duffy,Metallica
I’m afraid I didn’t see the Grammies. Have any of you seen City of Ember before? I just recently discovered it, and thought it was a neat story.
lalalalala
ah sorry guys. i’ve been exhausted lately. i promise i’ll have the new page by tonight.
oh yeah i saw the grammies too. i wanted to see the jonas brothers drown in their own tears after losing, but the camera didn’t show them.
Duffy was good, i could tell she was nervous
Coldplay doesn’t have the best live performances but i’ve always liked them. Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, the whole bit. Not the most exciting grammies year but yeah, i liked it.
I HATE THE JONAs BROTHERS!!! Bubble gum chewers.
yeah i can’t believe they were even nominated.
NEW PAGE IS FINISHED. I hope you guys like it.
IT’S OFFICIAL! THE DAY IS UPON US.
♥♥♥♥♥ IF YOU CANNOT BE WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE ….. LOVE THE ONE YOU ARE WITH. ♥♥♥♥♥
(that was for you Opus….I remember your main squeeze moved) (and Brian seems to have a good friend to date).
I was picked to help with an American Heart Association Blood Drive. I will help do medical histories. I hope I don’t pass out looking at all that blood. Well if I do, I hope they don’t take the opportunity to take my blood! ROFL
Then a few of us our doing Asian crusine and a movie. All in all… a good weekend. You guys have a good one too! See you on the flip side! ☺
Yes i HAD a main squeeze. She has another main squeeze now and I have my eyes sight upon someone else. So yea.
Happy Valentines Day.
Oh, so glad to hear that!!! You deserve a good squeeze. Hang on tight! LOL!
happy happy v’day, to you.
I mixed a cd and bought a giant Hershey Symphony bar (my main squeeze plays the trumpet)
Tonight = My Bloody Valentine 3D. So i guess i’ll be reviewing that in a few weeks.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Oh zipo, haha. remind me to tell you a story about blood drives.
Good luck with it. Tell yourself that it really isn’t blood, but red kool-aid being drawn.
no one comments after i comment lol.
Hope you all had fun with Valentine’s day. I was at home babysitting. What else is new!
Yes Brain, I will remind you to tell story of your blood drive experience. Mine was ok. But man some of those people looked like they should keep their blood. LOL… My Bloody Valentine in 3D. Seriously. Does the heart like throb to the beat in 3D? Now that is some serious stuff. Sounded like you had a good V’day as well.
Well now we can push on to the next holiday. It is almost as if we measure time by holdays.
Oo…Fat Tuesday really isn’t a holiday in the real world. But it is getting close.
lolol lol lool…. sorry “Brian” Good golly I even proofed it before I hit submit.
What’s fat tuesday?
Oo you know! Fat Tuesday… the start of Mardi Gras
Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!! Throw me some beads.
I play (Jazz band) for part of the Cabaret Friday night. Throw me some beads. ROFL
Lucky! Our school took out Jazz band cuz of the stupid budget cuts. I’m so jealous.
Say it isn’t so! That is just a shame. Well throw me some beads anyway.
We all have so much fun seeing all the beads we collect as we play. Just like in New Orleans!
lol ok.
So are done with band for the year? And you said you are being challenged about know more and more about music. I know you have a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Is someone asking you to do something in regard to it? Maybe I just misunderstood.
Well, the school took out jazz band and honors band. All that’s left is regular…band, and drumline and I’m in both.
But it’s all the other crap that stress my alter ego out. Piano lessons, regular sax lessons, stupid recitals like every other Sunday that I detest, solo competitions coming up in April, Drumline practices every morning, country orchestra auditions….I mean JEEZ! What’s even the point. I’m doing ANYTHING involving music when I get out of high school. I’m not going to some insane music institution. Juiliard. Manhattan. Yeah, don’t think so.
Really, it feels like I’m eating, sleeping, breathing music, and I’m not cut out for it yet.
And I’m greeeenn with envy for your happy mardi gras cabaret performance thing going on.
I. Loved. Jazz band.
Wow! When I said you were uber busy, I was right. How the heck do you find time to have just a little personal time? You certainly will have all the credentials for any school of music by the time you graduate.
Yah, cabaret is always a blast. We can actually have fun with the music as it is for a party. The whole band will play a couple of times then we break into combos. That way we can also have some fun out on the floor. Dance, games, eat. Just wish we had the same weather as New Orleans.
ladidadida!
Brian, I am sure you are familiar with some of the selections we are playing…
We start with Basin St. Blues….
La Fiesta

Love-I like him. Someone told me he likes me. I dunno really.

Cupid-Naked babies with wings and arrows
St. Valentine-The dude who started Valentines Day.
Valentines-Little kitty sticker puzzles… lol.
